From Design File to VR File
DreamTrace™ assumes the complexity and details required to convert and pre-render your project from its design software files into VR.
File Conversion
Before we can translate your project into a fully-rendered, 3D Virtual Reality experience, DreamTrace™ needs to receive a set of your design files. These are typically created by your designer or architect (or similar) in one of several professional software packages. The quality of your Pre-Visualization VR environment is directly related to the quality of your design source file.
Once we have received your design files, we’ll begin the conversion process from its original file format to a VR-enabled version. Our Visioneers have experience in converting from a number of prominent design packages, and will keep you informed if there are any questions during this process.
Typically, source files will need some degree of manual repair or augmentation, and most require the introduction of virtual light sources and a ground setting (horizon) before they can be properly experienced in VR. This is why every DreamTrace™ Pre-Visualization project includes 1 hour of conversion work.

What should I expect from my file?
Each design and architecture project is unique, and so are their digital source files. Invariably, the results after converting a set of files into a VR experience will reflect the quality and details of the original work found in the design file. Please review the sample images for examples of how the level of textures and model details can significantly impact your source file results.
The Visioneers at DreamTrace™ will work with you to make sure your files are optimized for your VR project. Upon request, we can help improve and beautify your file to your specifications. If file or enhancement work exceeds 1 hour, we will provide a quote for the work prior to starting.
